Welcome! So begins my blogging journey, and I am so thankful that you are here to share it with me.
So, who am I, and what on earth is SNYGG?…
I’m Tiff Carroll, home organization and design expert, and owner of SNYGG.
I’m a gal who loves getting her hands dirty…gardening, painting, or DIYing. I’m happiest when surrounded by books and dogs, and you will often find me daydreaming about my next trip to the beach. I have a passion for helping others declutter, organize, and uncover their home’s fullest potential.
I have recently started SNYGG (pronounced “snig”), a home organization and design business. So, why Snygg? Snygg is the Swedish word for “tidy, neat”. I spent a very long time searching for a name that would quickly and concisely fit the essence of what I do, as well as have a personal connection. I was overjoyed when I discovered that the incredibly cute word for “tidy”, in Swedish, was snygg. I was able to give a nod to (most) of my ancestors, and have a name that was short, sweet, and even sounded “tidy”.
So, what exactly do I do?
My ultimate goal is to help my clients eliminate clutter in order to create a more beautiful and functional home. This means creating organizational systems that fit the personality and organizational style of the people living in the home. Organization is most definitely NOT a one size fits all thing. Most people who find themselves surrounded by clutter (hidden or otherwise) feel like they have failed or are just messy. Clutter creates a lot of negative self-talk. My job is to show them that is in no way true, and that with the correct organizational system, anyone can have and maintain an organized home.
I truly cherish the relationships that are built over messy rooms. Often people don’t realize the mental toll that a disorganized home takes, and just how emotional letting things go can be. I guide my clients through the decluttering and organization process and empower them with the tools to take control of the mess, and continue to maintain their new spaces.
A home that is tidy and works for you should feel like a refuge from the rest of the world. By clearing away items that we no longer love or no longer serve us, we are left with what truly brings us joy. I am beyond thankful that I can guide my clients on that journey!

A little (more) about me…
I have always been an over-thinker. I analyze and dissect past conversations and perceived missteps for ridiculous amounts of time (much more than I want to admit). I was a cautious and anxious child and have carried more of that than I would like, into adulthood. I realized from a very early age, the connection between the order of my surroundings and the order of my mental state. I have always been a problem solver, a tinkerer, and a creative. For much of my life these traits have manifested in ever changing and (almost) always tidy surroundings.
My mother was often frustrated by my Saturday night “room shuffle”. The “shuffle” was not the repositioning of a few knick-knacks, but a complete rearranging of furniture…and everything else along with it. It had to be Saturdays, so I could stay up late agonizing over every detail (and because Friday nights were for the skating rink). I loved to wake up on Sunday mornings with a new (and very tidy) view.
In college I dealt with my feelings of anxiety by controlling the order of my dorm room. Thankfully, my roommate was my best friend from high school, and I received nothing more than eye rolls when I folded her pajamas every day and tucked them under her pillow. Hey, she got a super organized room out of the deal, and I maintained my sanity.
I originally went to college to teach elementary school. By the time my four years were up it no longer felt like my calling, but I had no idea what do with my creativity and my desire to help others. I spent some years bouncing between teaching and nanny jobs and lost myself in the day to day. This became especially true once I had kids of my own. It was so easy to put on my “mom hat” and put myself last. I know some of you feel what I’m saying. I found myself in the moments of joy when I was planning a project, painting a room, gardening, organizing, and DIYing the heck out of my house. I loved to help my friends design and set up spaces, consult on paint colors, and organize kitchens and closets. I just had no idea that I could turn that into a career. Talk about loving what you do! I could help others declutter, organize, design spaces, AND get paid for it?! Sign me up!
When I (finally) announced to my family and friends that I wanted to start an organization and design business, I was met with cries of “It’s about time!”. So, I set out to start SNYGG…and then Covid hit.
If Covid has given us anything, it is an UP-CLOSE look at our spaces. We have been face to face with all of our messy closets, disorganized kitchens and basements, and have seen just how our spaces aren’t working for us. We have had to create makeshift workspaces, help our kids attend school virtually, and try to make use of every inch or our homes, to keep from strangling each other.
Now that many people have been vaccinated, and we are thinking about letting others into our homes again, we are ready for a change. That’s where I come in!
Over the years I have been a teacher, nanny, dog mom, and am a mother of 2. I have a very realistic view of how families live in their homes. However, I don’t believe that style needs to go out the window to have a simplified and organized space. I am ALL about the fusion of beauty and practicality. I am beyond thrilled to finally be working with clients! I am dedicated to helping others eliminate clutter, reimagine rooms, and design a space that feels like a warm hug.
Through my blog SNYGG Home, I plan to share my love of all things organization and design and (hopefully) motivate you to create beauty and function in your own home. I believe that a home should say something about the people that live in it. I will share photos that inspire, projects, tools, and ideas that help you create a home that works for you…and FEELS like you. A simplified and functional room should still reflect you and the life you live within its walls. Let’s do this!
